However, as this competition consistently shows, through excellent teamwork they went on to achieve the accolade of being the top UK team, finishing as runners-up behind Italian winners Universitá degli studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia. Oxford Brookes also encountered a few difficulties along the way, including a small problem with the front wing which needed to be solved to get them through chassis scrutineering. Despite a disappointing turn on the sprint track and a few more frustrations, the team spirit prevailed to see them finish 10th in the endurance event, leaving them in a respectable 15th place overall at the end of the weekend. Sadly, this run of success was not to last as the team saw three failures in steering, fuelling and driveline, which caused them to miss the first two dynamic events. Team Bath Racing started the competition off enthusiastically, completing the scrutineering quickly and accomplishing some good results in the static events. In the 2019 UK event there were 81 teams competing from as far away as Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia and Jordan.
